Boast about your Maker 〜神様を誇りに思った件〜

主はこう言われる、「知恵ある人はその知恵を誇ってはならない。力ある人はその力を誇ってはならない。富める者はその富を誇ってはならない。 誇る者はこれを誇とせよ。すなわち、さとくあって、わたしを知っていること、わたしが主であって、地に、いつくしみと公平と正義を行っている者であることを知ることがそれである。わたしはこれらの事を喜ぶと、主は言われる」。

エレミヤ書 9:23-24

I’m proud of my God Whom I serve daily- by His mercy and grace. When I think of the fact that I believe in the Lord my God in this materialistic world, I get goosebumps. Also, it revives me every time I remember that He will never leave me nor forsake me. As I call His name, He is always there for me.

日々その慈しみと恵み故に仕えいる神様について、私は誇りに思っている。この物質主義的な世界において、自分がそれでもなお主なる神を信じていることを改めて考えてみると、鳥肌が立つものだ。その方は私を決して離れず見捨てられないことを思い出す時、私は元気が出る。その名を呼べば、神様はいつも私の傍にいて下さる。

The Name of Jesus is one of the greatest revelation ever given to mankind. This Name is incredibly unique.

イエスの名は、人類に与えられた中で最も大きな啓示のひとつと言って良いだろう。この名は、非常にユニークなのである。

First of all, this Name is the most supreme Name that humanity has ever heard. The Bible says,

After He was found in [terms of His] outward appearance as a man [for a divinely-appointed time], He humbled Himself [still further] by becoming obedient [to the Father] to the point of death, even death on a cross. For this reason also [because He obeyed and so completely humbled Himself], God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow [in submission], of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess and openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord (sovereign God), to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:8-11 AMP

最初に、この名は人間が歴史上耳にした中で、最高級の名である。聖書によると、

（キリストは、）おのれを低くして、死に至るまで、しかも十字架の死に至るまで従順であられた。 それゆえに、神は彼を高く引き上げ、すべての名にまさる名を彼に賜わった。 それは、イエスの御名によって、天上のもの、地上のもの、地下のものなど、あらゆるものがひざをかがめ、 また、あらゆる舌が、「イエス・キリストは主である」と告白して、栄光を父なる神に帰するためである。

ピリピ人への手紙 2:8-11

Secondly, this Name is literally a blank cheque for those who believe (accept). Jesus told us,

I assure you and most solemnly say to you, anyone who believes in Me [as Savior] will also do the things that I do; and he will do even greater things than these [in extent and outreach], because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name [ as My representative], this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified and celebrated in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name [as My representative], I will do it.

John 14:12-14 AMP

イエスの名は文字通り「（署名入りだが金額欄は書き込んでいない）小切手」なのだ。その名を信じるものにとってだが。イエスは私たちに言われた、

よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。わたしを信じる者は、またわたしのしているわざをするであろう。そればかりか、もっと大きいわざをするであろう。わたしが父のみもとに行くからである。 わたしの名によって願うことは、なんでもかなえてあげよう。父が子によって栄光をお受けになるためである。 何事でもわたしの名によって願うならば、わたしはそれをかなえてあげよう。

The Speaker of this wonderful statement is the same Person Who said,

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Matthew 24:35 NIV

この驚くべきことを言われた方は、こうも言っている:

Therefore, the Name of Jesus is such a Name that mankind has ever heard. Guess what, by which name but Jesus’ Name humans have cast out demons? Nobody do so by god’s name- there are far too many ‘gods’ in this universe!

故に、イエスの名は人間が今までに耳にした名前の中で最も特殊なものである。私は、実際にイエスの名でなく、他の神（神々）の名前で悪霊を追い出している人を見たことが無い。世の中には、甚だしい数の「神々」がいるのだから！

It is sad reality that people have become too confident and proud of themselves because of how far human civilization has developed (to this day). We’ve somehow forgotten our Creator.

人類の文明が今日ほどに豊かに発展してきた中で、人はやがて自分自身について自信過剰になり、知らず知らずのうちに高慢になってしまった。そして、私たちを創造された方を忘れるに至ったのだ。

The scripture appeals to you and me,

Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

1 Corinthians 1:26-31 NIV

聖句はあなたと私にこう訴える、

兄弟たちよ。あなたがたが召された時のことを考えてみるがよい。人間的には、知恵のある者が多くはなく、権力のある者も多くはなく、身分の高い者も多くはいない。 それだのに神は、知者をはずかしめるために、この世の愚かな者を選び、強い者をはずかしめるために、この世の弱い者を選び、 有力な者を無力な者にするために、この世で身分の低い者や軽んじられている者、すなわち、無きに等しい者を、あえて選ばれたのである。 それは、どんな人間でも、神のみまえに誇ることがないためである。 あなたがたがキリスト・イエスにあるのは、神によるのである。キリストは神に立てられて、わたしたちの知恵となり、義と聖とあがないとになられたのである。 それは、「誇る者は主を誇れ」と書いてあるとおりである。

コリント人への第一の手紙 1:26-31

God can use anybody. He can use any situation to turn into His own good (a reputation that draws human near Him). When He calls us, we may be nobody. But our life stories will be completely different after His calling. The way He does things are beyond our comprehension and that nullifies boasting (selfishly about ourselves).

神様は、どんな人でも用いることが出来る。私たちをみもとに引き寄せるべく、神様は自分たちにとって例えどうしようも無い様に見える状況でさえ変えることが出来る。神様が私たちを召される時、私たちはごく普通の人であるのかも知れない。しかしながら、召された後、私たちの人生には大逆転がある。神様のやり方は、私たちの理解を軽く超えるものであり、それは私たち自身についての自慢を無効にするのである。

As the Scriptures say, “If you want to boast, boast only about the Lord .” When people commend themselves, it doesn’t count for much. The important thing is for the Lord to commend them. 

2 Corinthians 10:17-18 NLT

誇る者は主を誇るべきである。 自分で自分を推薦する人ではなく、主に推薦される人こそ、確かな人なのである。

コリント人への第二の手紙 10:17-18

For these reasons, I think we are supposed to boast about our Maker. He is greater than all our achievements put together.

神様を誇りに思うことは、決して恥ずかしいことではないし、そういう文化がもっと認識されて良いと思う。私たちのこれまでの実績以上に、神様の慈しみと恵みは素晴らしいのだから。
