Let me make one thing clear first:
I am not a Liverpool fan. I support Arsenal.
And yet, recently I found myself deeply moved by Liverpool’s famous anthem, You’ll Never Walk Alone, commonly known as YNWA.
You’ll Never Walk Alone、通称YNWAにすっかり心を動かされてしまった。

The message is simple:
Keep walking through the storm. Keep hope in your heart. You are not alone.
Even as an Arsenal supporter, I have to admit—that message got me.
We Cannot Live Alone
Perhaps this is something I am still learning:
None of us can live completely alone.
No matter how talented, strong, intelligent, or independent we may be, there will eventually come a moment when we need somebody else.
Sometimes it takes a mistake to teach us this.
When we mess up and somebody helps us, we suddenly realize how fragile we actually are.
But perhaps that is not something to be ashamed of.
Our weakness reminds us that we need one another.

Being Human Means Admitting Weakness
To me, part of being human is being able to admit:
“I cannot do everything.”
We have weaknesses. We make mistakes. Sometimes other people see our faults more clearly than we do.
And yes, correction can hurt.
But being corrected can also help us grow.
So perhaps we do not need to spend so much energy trying to appear perfect.
Nobody is perfect.

We Need One Another
The truth is, we influence one another every day.
Someone teaches. Someone learns.
Someone encourages. Someone is encouraged.
Someone gives a hand, and someday that same person may need another hand extended towards them.
That makes me think of one of the best-known teachings of Jesus:
“Love your neighbor as yourself.“
Living in a big city means I probably have many “neighbors.”
People I pass on the street. People I work with. Friends, family, church members, and even strangers.
Every one of them may be carrying a burden I know nothing about.
If I remember that, perhaps I can become a little more compassionate.
At the very least, I do not want to become someone who refuses to give a hand when another person genuinely needs one.

You’ll Never Walk Alone
The Bible says:
Carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2
Maybe “You’ll Never Walk Alone” means something deeper to me now.
It is not simply about somebody being there to help me.
It also challenges me to become the person who walks beside somebody else when they are going through their storm.
You’ll Never Walk Alone
We need one another.
Sometimes I will need your hand.
Sometimes you may need mine.
So, walk on. You don’t have to walk alone.
