Shall I help you ?

Since I graduated from high school, I’ve been working at a restaurant.

Although I’m not fully employed (part-timer), I put an ‘unusual’ passion into my work.

Here’s what I’m thinking.

高校卒業と同時に、アルバイトをしている。

某ファミリーレストランである。

バイトのくせに、私はバカみたいに意識が高い。

そんな人間の、つぶやきです。

Whenever I’m at work, this thought comes out: My colleagues are my teammates.

It doesn’t matter whether that person is elder to me or not.

We are all performers on the same stage.

働いている時に、いつも思うことがある。

同僚はチームメイトである、ということだ。

それが先輩だろうが後輩だろうが、関係ない。

同じステージの上の共演者なのだから。

I want to understand those whom I work with.

The more I know about my colleagues, the more I find joy in my job.

ひとりひとりをもっと理解したい。

知れば知るほど、面白いし一緒に働きがいがある。

人が動くと書いて「働」の漢字が出来ている。

I see a value that we, humans work. NOT robots (I understand that some wish robots to replace work, though).

To my sense, the image of work is always to do with collaboration involving people.

モノが動いているだけでは働いていることにはならないのではないだろうか。

その横に人がいるからこそ、働くということがあるわけで。

We live in between various people.

When it comes to work, I appreciate the presence of others very often.

本当に、人間って支え合って生きているんだなあ。

働くことなんてなおさらである。

Honeybees are stronger when they are together at their nest.

Three bees are mightier than a bee.

ミツバチは、巣にいる時に物凄く強い。

大勢が集まっているからだ。

We are not perfect, though, the strength of mankind might rest in supporting one another.

人間の強さは、支え合いの中にもあると思う。

Two are better than one,

because they have a good return for their work:

If one falls down,

his friend can help him up.

But pity the man who falls

and has no one to help him up !

Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.

But how can one keep warm alone ?

Though one may be overpowered,

two can defend themselves.

A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

I want to become a more supportive person.

もっと、仲間を支えてゆきたい。
